Starting Point

Tencon is a construction company founded in 2017, specializing in new residential developments. The company delivers significant apartment building and area development projects and has grown strongly despite a challenging market environment.

Alongside this growth, a need emerged to clarify direction:

  • How do we stand out from competitors?
  • How do we convince increasingly large clients?
  • How do we attract the best talent?

Tencon wanted to strengthen its brand awareness and ensure that its brand, messaging, and website support business growth as the market recovers.

“We haven’t been in the habit of making a big deal about ourselves. Now we wanted to show what we can do,” says CEO Matias Mehtätalo.

Solution

Mailand’s consultant had been working with another company within the same group and began supporting Tencon’s communications in the role of an outsourced communications manager.

The work started with a current-state analysis and workshop. This led to a shared understanding that instead of isolated actions, Tencon needed a clear brand foundation to guide all communication.

The project progressed in phases:

  1. Current-state analysis and workshop
  2. Defining the brand core, promise, and key differentiating messages
  3. Clarifying tone of voice and communication guidelines
  4. Designing and implementing a new visual identity
  5. Building a brand book as a management tool
  6. Renewing the website

Mailand assembled the right partners from its network. Berry Creative was responsible for the visual identity, and J&Co Digital implemented the website. The consultant led the overall project, timeline, and content work in close collaboration with Tencon’s management.

In the construction industry, decision-making is based on trust, proven capability, and the ability to manage complex projects. These elements were placed at the core of the rebranding and communication.

“Mailand brought a clear understanding of how the project should be executed. The process felt natural to us, and the overall structure remained under control,” says Mehtätalo.

Outcome

As a result of the rebranding, Tencon gained:

  • A clear tool for managing and developing the brand
  • A distinctive and credible visual identity
  • A website that supports sales, recruitment, and project tenders
  • A consistent way to communicate expertise and projects

The new website highlights Tencon’s performance, references, and way of working in a way that resonates with both clients and employees.

“I’m very satisfied with the project and the outcome. Mailand quickly understood Tencon’s business, and communication worked smoothly throughout. We achieved our shared goals. What stood out in particular was how strongly Mailand’s consultant took ownership of the overall project from the very beginning,” Mehtätalo notes.

From the consultant’s perspective, working with a high-performing and goal-oriented construction company accelerated the project and enabled an ambitious outcome.

Clear leadership, a committed team, and above all, the courage to renew made the process efficient. When decisions are made decisively and the direction remains clear, the brand strengthens quickly.
